The Higher Education sector increasingly has a global focus and the University is continually extending its international outreach. Through global partnerships and bilateral agreements with international universities and organisations, research collaboration and student and staff mobility will increase and become a staple part of academic culture.

Through Growing Esteem 2015-2020 the University will strengthen its international engagement and increase its global impact and standing. Global impact is not just about international student populations or campus presence. It goes to the reach of ideas, and the development of graduates who can be a ‘citizen of the world’.

The aim of the International Engagement strategy is to reinforce links with leading universities internationally, through joint research, commercial endeavours and student experiences, and to underpin the success of our international engagement. Our profile in Asia will be raised and we will leverage existing relationships through dedicated interfaces, such as Asialink, Asia Institute and the Australia India Institute, and extend connections to the region.
