The Terms of Reference for Course Standing Committees were reviewed, updated in 2018 and endorsed by University Executive in December 2018.
The composition and Terms of Reference are based on the following principles:
- CSCs should support custodial faculties in overseeing the development, delivery and quality of all of the University’s bachelor courses, regardless of whether or not a degree is dubbed a ‘Melbourne Model’ degree;
- CSCs should have appropriate representation from stakeholder faculties and graduate schools, which may include those contributing majors or contributing to the teaching and those offering graduate pathways;
- Each Bachelors degree should have its own Course Standing Committee; and
- Membership of the CSCs should provide scope for committees to be tailored to the differing contexts of each degree.
